Daria has been a follower of my blog from about the beginning. I started my blog when I had primary breast cancer in 2008 and now like Daria I have secondary breast cancer so she was close to my heart. I was very sad wehen I read she had died but she gave me great hope knowing she'd lived with it for 10 years as I thought I'd only last 6 months and I was very depressed about it. She lifted my heart and I'm very sorry her blog has ended and she has gone. My condolences go to her family and friends. God bless Daria and may she rest in peace.

Don & family,
As many have already affirmed, Daria was an inspiration to all who knew her through her wonderful caring spirit. I shall miss her presence in "the girls coffee get- togethers" with Joan, Linda, Renee & I. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor even throughout her battle with cancer.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We shall miss her.

I had the great pleasure of working with Daria on metastatic breast cancer awareness. It feels like yesterday that I had coffee with her in Ottawa. She fought a brave battle and inspired so many with her beautiful blog. I feel blessed to have gotten to know her. She will never be forgotten. She is an angel and she will be dearly missed. May she rest in peace.

The Board, staff and volunteers of the Canadian Breast Cancer Network (CBCN) offer our heartfelt sympathy to Daria's family and friends. Daria was such a kind, generous, thoughtful and curious woman who gave willingly of her time to attend a metastatic breast cancer focus group that we held last year and to come to Ottawa to help commemorate Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day in October. She was a strong presence at our Breakfast on Parliament Hill, where she spoke with many MPs and Senators of her experiences, and at the City of Ottawa Proclamation of Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day. We will remember her life and courage in living with breast cancer.

Dear Don and Daria's family;
Daria first contacted me through the Cancer Connection Support system which resulted in her weekly phone calls to me since June and till October when she had to terminate our connection.Her phone calls meant so much to me and I looked forward to them every week. She was my sounding board and gave me ecouragement in dealing with my own diagnosis and treatment. I'll always remember her as a loving, caring, positive person. I finally discovered her blog sometime in November so through that I was aware of her deteriorating condition, however, I truly expected her to recover and was so shocked and devastated to read of her passing. My sincerest sympathy goes to you and all the family. Don, she spoke lovingly of the care and support you gave her; bless you for that.
And a note to Daria's mom now:
I am so very sorry you lost a child; I know what you're going through as we lost our son almost 5 weeks ago, on Dec. 24th 2010. He was 51 years old, however, age doesn't matter.... the terrible pain of the loss will always be there. I'm still on treatment and we're coping the best we can through all this.
May Daria's legacy live on in the memories of all she meant to you. I pray that God will bring you comfort at this most difficult time.

Dear Daria, I wish were able to get together but knowing what was happening in your daily routine I could only be with you by reading your blog. You were a great friend, a great walking partner. We walked those marathons together and had great fun! You are now at rest cheering us on on our daily endeavours. God Bless You Don - May your strength be in knowing that Daria "fought the good fight"!
