Darlene “Doll”, 89, of Kanss City, MO passed away on May 14, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born June 1, 1927 to James and Ester Stewart in Emporia, KS. Darlene was a kind hearted loving mother who valued family above all. Her favorite times were cooking large meals for friends and family. Darlene loved gardening and spending time at her lake house. She treasured her many dogs, and most recently, Champ.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Elza R. Berry and her daughter, Charlene Watson.
Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Nelson and Margaret Oplotnik; brother, Allen (Sandy) Lindsey, sister-in-law, Gail Stewart; grandchildren, Jack Nelson, Jr., Christie Oplotnik, Danielle (John) Duffy and Cody Watson; and great grandchildren; Gavin Wescott, Rowan Nelson and Owen Duffy.
Services will be 2 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at White Chapel Funeral Home with a visitation from 12-2 PM. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Memorials suggested to NorthCare Hospice House https://www.kchospice.org/donate-now/
