Darlene Ann Edmonds, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was born August 27, 1933 in Jasper, IN to the late Carl and Theresia Bombalaski Jahn. Darlene was a homemaker and a life member of the VFW post #1693 Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond J. Edmonds, her sisters Marcelene Jahn, and Celesta Graham, her brother Earl Jahn and her granddaughter Chesley Wiseman. All her friends knew that although she liked to torment people she had a heart of gold, and would do anything for anyone.

Survivors include her daughters, Donna Edmonds Lilly (Greg) of Louisville, KY, Mona Edmonds (Connie Wilson) of Louisville, KY, Ruth Edmonds Hook (Darrell) of New Albany, IN, Melba Edmonds Zink of New Albany, IN, Sheila Jahn Carpenter of Louisville, KY; siblings, Donald Jahn (Sue) of Jacksonville, FL, John "Jay" Jahn of Sellersburg, IN, Sheri Crafton (Ralph) of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Kendra Wiseman Ashby (James), Jonathon Wiseman (Misse), Leann Hook, Anthony Hook, Melissa Carpenter Kurtz (Michael); great-grandchildren, Stefanie, Shawn, Whitney, Kayla, and Jordan Ashby, Cameron Johnson, Michael, Racheal, Jacob, Alexander, Christopher, and Elizabeth Carpenter; great-great-grandchildren, Molli Ashby, Liam Dobson, Cora Hook

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday at the Kraft Funeral Chapel with entombment to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

Our deepest sympathies to all of you. So, so sad to hear of her passing. Sometimes I wish she would have been our mother, but you all were very lucky to call her Mom. And we'll try to get up there either for visitation or the funeral...Again our deepest sympathies to all of you who held her dear.
