Darrell was born September 15th, 1953 in Nashville, Tennessee. His mother was expecting a girl and changed his name from Darlene Allene to Darrell Allen. Starting his curiosity early he began to walk at 3 months, or so says his mother. When asked who was the most famous or admired person in the family Darrell would answer “that’d be me”. He was full of laughter, always smiling, and making up jokes. “Hey do you know why the little Moron threw the clock out the window? He wanted to see time fly.” Little Moron jokes were his favorite.
Darrell was an all star wrestler in high-school as well as #82 on the football team. In his adult years his favorite sport to play was Golf. You could find Darrell on the golf course with his buddies right up until the end where he maintained his 6 handicap. He loved to sail and often organized trips to the British Virgin Islands with various crews and was affectionately known as Captain Ron, and Sara as Miss Kitty by his crew. He loved to watch football (Titans) and hockey (Predators).
Self nicknamed “Mr. Wizard” for knowing everything and seeing all; his family adopted his nickname and always leaned on him for advice. If something needed to be fixed, Mr. Wizard could do it, if someone needed directions, Mr. Wizard could find the way. If you knew Darrell you understand the meaning of the popular phrase, “love, laugh, live”.
Darrell was a loving and caring husband, father, poppy, son, and friend. He will be missed and cherished by all who knew him.

"Mary, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. For the short time I was at ABB, I remember how often you would speak of him. I truly admired..." Betsy Burris (Deltona, FL)
