It is with great sadness that the Geyer family announces the passing of Darren Michael "Painter" Geyer. A Monterey native, he was a local painting contractor and engineer at the Intercontinental Hotel. A longtime volunteer with the AT & T golf tournament, he was also a motorcycle rider, race fan and drummer and is remembered as always being the life of the party.
Darren is survived by his son, Gage Geyer; the love of his life, Melanie Mix; his parents, Janet Gallagher and Peter (Eve) Geyer; his sisters, Janice (Kim) Coker, Lori (Gary) Taylor and Kerry (Andy) Cripps and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his best friend and brother, Peter Geyer, Jr. and his step-father, Fred Gallagher.

Michael. You are going to be truly missed. Thank you for being such an awesome Brother in law to me. I will always cherish the time we spent together when me and your sister came out to Cali to work the AT&T at Pebble with you and the family. The fun we had at Vegas and riding the zip line on slotzilla. Most of all I will miss the times we would just sit back and have a beer of two and just talk and laugh about what ever came to mind. RIP my Brother. We WILL met again. CHEERS!!!!!!

I am terribly sorry to learn of Michaels passing! He and my son David, were best buds from about 4 years until 17, when they went different directions. David to LA n Michael to NY! They were the cutest little blonde twins, we called them and people would compliment me on my darling little girls as they both had long hair, not fashionable for boys at that time. We loved Michael and we considered him part of our family. He truly was adorable and this is very sad news for me and my family! ❤Jean Darragh, Michelle and David. RIP dear friend❤

Geyer family,
Darren Painter has been a friend since high school. He is a friend to me, my parents, my children and my grandchildren. My daughters always looked forward to Painters visits growing up as did I, fun, loud and raucous. I would love to post some photos but since this is a public forum .....Although i will say a favorite video of ours is Painter doing water ballet in my pool with full scuba gear on !! We had many great times growing up thanks to Painter. He is missed

I remember the races at the fairgrounds and you explained to me all about it. I remember our deep conversations about life, our dreams, our hopes. It's a rare gift to find people who touch your soul and leave such a strong connection. I was truly blessed to have your friendship and I am crushed and heartbroken you are not here anymore. I see you my friend. I hear you and I know exactly what you mean. Many prayers of peace and healing for your family. Forever your friend.

To Darren's Family
There was not a more polite nice painter to work with. Darren became a friend of my family and would come by my office just to see how everyone was. I am sorry to read of this and want you all to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time. A wonderful person. Sincerely, Judy Ivey EXCLUSIVE REALTY

Darren, my brother, so very sad to hear that you've left us at such a young age. So many great memories; playing drums, Jr. High, High School and a lot of things I'd never mention here. Will think of you often and with great joy. I know I'll see you again someday and we'll keep the fun going. Be at peace, my friend.
