Darryl E. Marshall, 64, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday December 19, 2013 at his home in the company of his family. Darryl was born September 4, 1949 in Indianapolis. He spent most of his youth in Indianapolis but moved to Bloomington in the late 1960's to attend Indiana University. He has served as Chairman of the Bloomington Housing Authority and many other boards over the years as well. A true renaissance man, Darryl enjoyed playing music, cooking, drawing, painting and reading in his spare time.
Darryl is survived by his wife of 35 years Susan Morel Marshall, his beloved son Matthew Marshall (Jessica Lambert), mother Dorothy Stubbs, sister Jona Stubbs, and brothers Chris, Eron and Eric Stubbs. To Mrs. Marshall and Mathew, May God comfort you in these trying times. I had the pleaure of having Mr. Marshall as my supervisor. As a manager, I will never forget the knowledge he shared and his love for his job. His kindness extended beyond the office as a person, he was there if you needed his help. The residents are heartbroken and The Mt. Zion Board really appreciated his leadership, as well as I. May God Continue to Bless You and Matt. We will Keep you in our prayers.

To the family of Darryl Marshall, I was a classmate of Eric's and as he spoke of his family it was done with such love that I want to take a moment to offer my condolences. Time is a great healer and as it passes by remember to cherish all the happy memories, words spoken, kind deeds, and gentle whispers. I know God gives us a peace beyond understanding when we suffer so great a loss. Be encouraged and keep the faith.
