Daryl Eugene Lapp of Henderson, Nevada, died at his home on September 13, 2013, surrounded by his beloved wife, children, and sisters. He had been ill with cancer for three months.
Born in Warren, Ohio, on April 22, 1945, he was the son of Harold and Mary Cunningham Lapp, both of who preceded him in death. A graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and Youngstown State University, he spent the early years of his professional life as a bricklayer, science teacher, and principal of St. Pius X School in Warren, Ohio, and then as a foreman at the Warren and Hubbard, Ohio General Motors plants.
Husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, he is survived by his wife, Patricia (Patty) Boyle Lapp of Henderson, Nevada; his children, Eric (Tina) Lapp of Columbus, Ohio; Shannon (Todd) Justice of Greer, South Carolina; Colleen (Steve) Thompson of Germantown, Wisconsin; his sisters, Denise Lapp of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, Diane Lapp of San Diego, California; and six grandchildren, Devin, Danielle, Anna Kate, Mary Allison, Jennifer, and Christopher.
Always making one more joke that contained pure wisdom, Daryl's children praise him for his caring and loving guidance throughout their lives. His family meant the world to him.
Moving to Henderson in 1997, he loved his Solera community where he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Solera Homeowners Association.
His family and friends will miss his quick wit, adventuresome nature, and loyal guidance. The angels are smiling in heaven to welcome him home.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 16, 2013 at 2:00pm at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, Nevada 89123 – King David Chapel.

Daryl was my Dad and he was truly the best dad anyone could have. We loved him more than words can express. He always gave me advice and was on my side even if he didn't agree. He was an awesome grandfather to my children Jen and Chris. He was my Moms best friend. Our hearts are broken and as I sit here and type the tears stream down the keyboard. Please pray for my Mom, brother Eric, sister Shannon and their children, my aunt Denise and Diane, and all of our family and friends that meant so much to him. I hope the angels take good care of him and pray that he's pain free in heaven.

Daryl and I grew up two doors apart in Warren Ohio and were good friends during those years. We drifted apart and had no contact since we were in our mid-20s. I see from all the great comments that he developed into an impressive man and I'm sure he will be missed.
My condolences to the family.

Dear Patty and Family, you have our deepest sympathy for the loss of Daryl. He was the best boss and friend a guy could ever ask for. We had as much fun in the Hubbard plant as well as out. He introduced me to a girl named Francie one night at the Village Tavern, who later became my wife. That's why he as our Best Man at our wedding. The best thing about Daryl: He was just one of the guys like the rest of us, doing our best to enjoy life as much as we could, which I'm sure he did. Just not long enough, though.
God bless you, Daryl. God bless you, Patty and Family.
