Obituary

It is with hearts full of love and sorrow that we must say good bye to our husband, father, grandfather and most cherished friend Daved Edward Bell. We will all miss your humor and devotion to all of those around you. He loved all without condition and devoted his life to his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Virginia A. Bell, to whom he gave his heart and commitment. His children, Edward (Kim) Bell, Richard (Marie) Bell, Renee (Peter Ackley) Hewitt, and Bradley (Kirsty) Bell. It is with hearts full of love and sorrow that we must say good bye to our husband, father, grandfather and most cherished friend Daved Edward Bell.

We will all miss your humor and devotion to all of those around you. He loved all without condition and devoted his life to his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Virginia A. Bell, to whom he gave his heart and commitment. His children, Edward (Kim) Bell, Richard (Marie) Bell, Renee (Peter Ackley) Hewitt, and Bradley (Kirsty) Bell. His stepchildren; Mindy (Jay) Small, Meg (Jim) Bowers, Bill (Jessica) Shaw, Jonathan Shaw. His grandchildren; Kevin , Kara, and Daved Bell, Connor and Zachary Bell, Tristan Hewitt, Karter, Kelsea, and Kenzie Small, Hailey, Hayden and Mason Bowers. His siblings; Bobby Warner, Dottie Salamini, Jeanne Warner, Stanley Warner, Donald Warner, Candie Roberts and Jeffery Bell. His best and most devoted friend, Ralph Hunt, carpenter, plumber, electrician and chauffer.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Barbara Bell and Marjorie Warner and siblings Marian Hartford and Carol Hertzberg.

Daved was a 30 year veteran of the Walton and Delhi Fire/EMS Departments. Through his dedicated service to the Fire and EMS, he has touched many lives with a helping and healing hand. He was instrumental in developing the curriculum for the First Responder Program. He also served as a fire coordinator and CPR instructor. Daved was a farmer for 26 years and he was also employed by CMT, Decker Ambulance Services, The US Postal Service in Delancey and Delhi.

Daved was a member of the Delhi Golf Course for 20 years. He shared his passion of golf with his friends and family, and especially enjoyed the yearly tradition of "Bell Family Golf." His strong passion for trains was eagerly shared with his children and grandchildren. Daved had a special place in his heart for the many animals that shared his life including his Cat Max and his dog Buddy.

We invite you to join in a celebration of his life with us on Monday, December 2, 2013 from 6-8pm at the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home, 425 Main St., Franklin, NY. Services are to be held at the Treadwell Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 11am, with the Rev. Dr. John Hill, officiating. Burial will be later in the spring in the Croton Union Cemetery, Treadwell.

A luncheon to follow for all, will be held at the Treadwell Fire Hall. We wish for any contributions in Daved's name to go to the Treadwell or Delhi Fire/EMS services.
