David Charles Martin, 68 of Waynesboro, passed away on October 10, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Richmond on January 19, 1948, a son of the late, Ellis and surviving, Betty Martin.
David proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Waynesboro Mennonite Church. David was employed as a packer for Target Distribution Center. He had a great passion for teaching. David also worked as a librarian and taught computer classes for Fishburne Military Academy. He also was a photographer, who captured many weddings. In his spare time, he greatly enjoyed cooking, watching Jeopardy and spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, David is survived by his loving wife, Flora Martin; two daughters, Rebekah Kenney and Linda Martin; two grandsons, John David Kenney and wife, Ariel, and Andrew Nathan Kenney; siblings, George Martin, Jane Pattison and husband, Dennis, and John Martin; as well as extended family and friends. David also leaves behind his cats, Socks and Colors.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Waynesboro Mennonite Church, 1801 Monroe St., Waynesboro, VA 22980, with Pastor Howard Miller officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in David's memory to the Waynesboro Mennonite Church Kitchen Fund, 1801 Monroe St., Waynesboro, VA 22980.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Pastor Howard and the members of the church for their prayers and friendship.

John, Betty and the entire Martin Family. I am so sorry to hear of David's passing. I remember as a child going with you to see David at Frederick Military Academy. I have so many memories of the Martin family when you were in Suffolk it could fill a book and I still miss and think of you all often.
