I was unaware of David's passing until today.. When I lived in Whiteface TX I competed against David in many sports and found him to be a fierce and fair competitor. I had also crossed path's with David on my journey to becoming an Eagle Scout. I had recently become aware of his distinguishing himself as a Marine in Vietnam, relevant to me as a Naval Flight Surgeon, with wings, for I flew stateside with Marine as well as Navy Jet Pilots. I just wanted to extend my deepest sympathies to Ron's wife of over 50 years, and to woody and his family.
I knew Ron and Woody from our Quantico Marine Athletes Reunions. After reading of all his accomplishments I marveled at how humble and unassuming he was.
He was a good guy, and served the Corps well. He will be missed at our Reunions, but his memory will live on.
I will have a mass said on his behalf.
May God rest his soul. Semper Fi Colonel

At Quantico in 1966 as a 2nd Lt., I worked with Dave in staging the Quantico Track and Field Relays, a major east coast event at the time. I was on the track team, and he was limping around recently recovering from his football leg injury. He was a terrific guy, and I was so happy to see him again at the Quantico athletes' reunion in Austin last year, and also to meet his son. I am so sorry for your loss, and it is our loss as well. My sincere condolences to the entire family.

Dave was a fellow analyst at the JWFC in Suffolk who provided mentorship and friendship for many years. He was quite a character and was always fun to be around. The world has lost a dedicated Marine and one damn fine American! My condolences to the entire McInturff family.

I worked with Dave at Suffolk for a good part of the last decade. He was a great friend, and a great Marine. Since I was a Sailor, he and I would share plenty of Sea Stories together, much to the dismay of our Army & Air Force Brethren. Please accept my condolences on your loss.

Dave was my mentor when I first arrived at JWFC at Ft Monroe. He was tough on this old sailor but a great teacher. Please accept my condolences on your loss of this husband and father, and a Great American.
