David Wayne Shore of Pfafftown passed away of natural causes Wednesday, December 27 at his home. David was born February 15, 1961 in Forsyth County to the late Calvin & Mattie Belle Shore. He graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1979 and North Carolina State University in 1984 with a degree in Furniture Manufacturing and Design. He married Donna Phillips in 1992. David worked as a Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technician for both Bowman Gray School of Medicine and Calloway Johnson Moore and West.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Jean-Claude and Michelle; sisters-in-law, Linda Hurdle (Brian) and Janice Bray of Burlington; nephew, Robbie Hurdle(Becca) of Gibsonville; niece, Tara Brown of Greensboro; sister, Susan Williamson(Ronnie) of South Carolina.
David was accomplished at woodworking and created several beautiful pieces for the home. He was most proud of his corner china cabinet and hope chests, each of cherry wood and bearing the Moravian Seal. He particularly enjoyed cooking, and loved preparing chicken stew, chili and pound cake, to name a few of his specialties. David was an active and dedicated member of Unity Moravian Church, where he sang in the choir, prepared coffee, occasionally taught Sunday School, and volunteered for countless other activities.
The funeral service will be 2pm Tuesday, January 2 at Unity Moravian Church in Lewisville. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service. Reverend Barry Foster will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate David's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Unity Moravian Church at 8300 Concord Church Road, Lewisville,NC 27023. Burial will follow in church cemetery. Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home on Reynolda Road is assisting the Shore family.
