David Walter Bowman, 55, of Sturgis, Mich., formerly of Myerstown, PA, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 in the Three Rivers Hospital, Three Rivers, Mich. He was the husband of Grace E. Sargent Bowman. He was born October 27, 1955 in Lebanon County, PA a son of J. Clyde Bowman of Dayton, VA and the late Kathleen Smith Bowman. David was most recently employed as a driver for the Essenhaus Restaurant in Middlebury, Indiana. When living in Pennsylvania, he worked on the farm and later as an EMT for the K & W Ambulance Service in Myerstown, PA, the Lebanon First Aid and Safety Patrol and the Ephrata Ambulance Service through the Ephrata Community Hospital, PA. He also volunteered with the Myerstown Ambulance Association and attended the Centerville United Methodist Church in Centerville, Mich. Surviving in addition to his wife and father are step children, Christopher Makuch and Samantha Makuch; sister, Sharon Krall of Lititz, PA and step mother, Janice Bowman of Dayton, VA; nephews, Matthew and Nathan Krall. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the Myerstown Church of the Brethren, 51 W. Stoever Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067, with a viewing beginning on Wednesday at 5:00 PM at the church. There will also be a memorial service for David on Sunday, July 24th at 1:00 PM in the Centerville United Methodist Church, Centerville, Mich. with a pot luck to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Myerstown First Aid Unit, PO Box 126, Myerstown, PA 17067. Clauser Funeral Home, Inc. of Schaefferstown, PA is handling his arrangements.

Dear Grace and family, Just a note to let you know I send you my love and sympathy in this most difficult time. Dave was a wonderful, fun and caring person. So sorry for your loss Grace i havent seen David since my dads memorial but David nd my brother are good freinds they did alot together throgh the years and my dad thought alot of David he was a good freiend he will be missed he used to plat santa clause for deans kids and mine at my mom n dads house again so sorry for your lose deans sister Linda m Smith
