David and his wife Margot were well known for their quite
impressive Christmas display all over and inside their home
in the Crystal Hills neighborhood. He enjoyed
attending Manitou school athletic events and a huge
supporter! He was preceded in death by his parents
Antonio (Tony) Cordoba Delgado and Manuela (Nellie)
Espinoza, and siblings Josephine Wilkens, Jesse Delgado of
WI and spouse Margot Strouhlein. David was born
January 31, 1935 in Kansas City, MO. David was raised
in Waukesha, WI where he joined the Army in 1953.
Stationed in Korea, Vietnam, served with the 23rd
Infantry-Americal (Awarded a Bronze Star and The Army Medal
of Commendation) and in Germany where he met his wife
Margot, and married in Waukesha, WI in 1956. David
retired as a Master Sergeant from Ft. Carson, Colorado
Springs in 1973, then started a second career that lasted 30 years
with Hewlett-Packard. David loved his pups; Rocky,
Silver and Printz that accompanied him on trips to visit his
family in Ohio, Missouri, and Wisconsin in his RV, after
Margot died May 2010. He is survived by numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins in Missouri, Ohio, and
Wisconsin, and Stouhlein family in Bayreuth, Germany.
David enjoyed meeting people, striking up a conversation
with all! During his final years of retirement, he
enjoyed working at Walmart as a cashier. David's
quick smile and lighthearted demeanor was loved by all -
he sure will be missed by his loved family and many dear
friends who were like his family, Paul and Terri, Mike and
Gigi, Sandy, Joyce, Maggie, Janie, Gabby and Donato!
David dearly loved serving his country and was so very proud
of it – brought tears to his eyes just talking about
it! David has returned to his beloved Colorado and
will be buried at Ft. Logan VA Cemetery alongside his wife, Margot on May 13, 2014 at 11:30 am. Memorial contributions can be made in David's name to Sacred Heart
Church, 2030 West Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs 80904 or
