David was a great witness to the ability of the human spirit to deal with and manage pain and suffering. I remember the power of his cheerful presence and always shall. My deepest sympathies to the many who loved him and who must now live without his tender light.

Dear Margie,
My thoughts are with you even though I am unable to attend David's service. He sounds like he was an inspiration to many. Where did all of those years go??

I want to send my condolences to David's family. I knew David from the Wheeling Eights Square Dance Club. I am a new member and he was so supportive and encouraging in teaching me the different square dancing moves. I will miss his one line jokes.

David was a very special person. He seemed to live life to the fullest and even with everything he had to deal with in his life, he was always lighthearted and had a smile every time I saw him at square-dancing. We will miss him very much.

David is probably the most vital, positive person I've ever known. He and Margaret are inspirations.
When we moved to Abbotsford his parents became great friends to my parents and our family.
I have thought about him often which has always brought, and will always bring, a smile to my face.
I look forward to celebrating David's life with his family and friends on Saturday. The world is a better place for him having been here.

The Doka family was an integral part of Knox Presbyterian Church for many years and we were saddened to learn of David's passing. Your father Rev. Cal Doka baptised me, as an adult, and our two children and we joined the church all on the same day. We were always interested to hear news of the Doka family and so we thank you for keeping the congregation informed of this event. Sincere sympathy to the family from Jim & Joyce Gibson, Calgary
