David T. Green passed into the loving arms of the Lord on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. David was born on March 9, 1951 in Dallas, Texas to his parents, Jane and Robert Green and is preceded in death by his father and his brother-in-law, Wendell Miller. He married Jo Ellen and was blessed with a loving daughter, Kristin, who is married to Roam Gunn, Jr. David married Patricia Noble on July 4, 1992 and embraced her family including two sons, Wes Rosenstein and Charles Rosenstein and his wife Monica. David T. Green passed into the loving arms of the Lord on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. David was born on March 9, 1951 in Dallas, Texas to his parents, Jane and Robert Green and is preceded in death by his father and his brother-in-law, Wendell Miller.

He married Jo Ellen and was blessed with a loving daughter, Kristin, who is married to Roam Gunn, Jr. David married Patricia Noble on July 4, 1992 and embraced her family including two sons, Wes Rosenstein and Charles Rosenstein and his wife Monica. In 2009, he was blessed with a grandson, Roam Gunn, III. David was a loving and devoted grandfather to all of his grandchildren including Corbin and Connor Rosenstein.

David is survived by brother Jon Green and wife Ann, sisters Lauren Waggoner and husband John, and Cindy Miller. His extended family includes nieces Mary Green, Rachel Henderson, Genevieve Cohen, Valerie Waggoner, nephews John Andrew and Michael Waggoner, sister-in-law, Katherine Cater, and two brothers-in-law Gary Noble with wife Joy, and Robert Noble with wife Barbara.

David was a dedicated family man of great integrity whose enthusiasm for people was evident in everything he did. As a teen, he earned his Eagle Scout badge and continued to have a strong interest in scouting as evidenced in several Cub Scout camping trips with his grandsons.

Dr. David Green was the Director of the Weekend College at Collin College. David began working for the college three years ago as Coordinator of Assessment and was promoted to the position of Director of Weekend College in April 2012. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas. He held a PhD in Education from Capella University and an MBA from University of St. Thomas in Houston. Prior to joining Collin, David was Area Chair/Lead Faculty member with University of Phoenix from 2002-2012, a Business Partner with Hewlett Packard and a Consultant with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) for many years. He held several certifications, including Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Certified Performance Technologist (CPT). Most recently, David was selected as a member of the 2013-2014 class of Leadership Plano.

During his tenure with Collin College, David helped launch the district-wide Continuous Improvement Process; worked diligently to raise awareness of the Weekend College; and was a presenter at both the Non-Traditional Student Orientation and the Student Leadership Summit this past spring. David demonstrated passion and initiative in his work and was known for his kind demeanor and for treating students with dignity and respect. His motto was "Enjoy the journey while valuing the end product."

David grew up as a Methodist and was confirmed along with his RCIA "Class of 2007" at the Easter Vigil at Prince of Peace. He was an integral part of Christ Renews His Parish Team 1, a member of the leadership team of the original Prince of Peace That Man Is You!, and a lector at mass. He has been quoted many times as telling a nervous CHRP witness that "There's someone in that room who needs to hear what you're going to say".

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 15 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Memorial Oaks Cemetery,13001 Katy Freeway (I-10 at Eldridge), Houston, TX 77079; 281-497-2210. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on the campus of the University of St. Thomas (please park in the St. Thomas Parking Garage next to the Chapel of St. Basil on the 4th floor or on the roof, parking is free if you park on those two levels), 3802 Yoakum Blvd. Houston, TX 77006, in the Chapel of St. Basil at 2 PM on Saturday, November 16th, followed by a graveside service at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, with a reception to follow.
