David Charles Roberts, age 61 of Rock Island, passed away March 22, 2012 at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, after a very courageous battle with cancer. He put up a good fight. In accordance with his wishes his body has been cremated, and no services are planned at this time. Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, is assisting the family. David was born on August 28, 1950 in East Moline to Betty Jane (Campbell) Roberts and Glynn William Roberts. He graduated from United Township High School in East Moline in 1968. On October 14, 1978, he married Katherine Buysse in Geneseo, IL. For 18 years, he was employed at R.K. Dixon in Davenport, as an office equipment service technician.
Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Katherine, Rock Island; children, Christopher (Linda) McClain, Peoria, IL, and Jennifer (Mike) Gribble, West Des Moines, IA; 4 grandchildren; siblings, Judy (Bob) Sowers, Bill (Brenda) Roberts, Jim Roberts, John (Lyn) Roberts, Joe (Suwan) Roberts, Barry (Sue) Roberts, Becky Keehn, and Steve Roberts; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
His parents and a sister, Kathryn McIntyre, preceded Mr. Roberts in death.
