Spence, David Osbourne – It is with sadness that the family of David O. Spence announce his passing on November 14, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer in his 78th year. He loved us and taught us many lessons of life, especially his last: bravery and resilience in the face of a difficult illness. He was a devoted husband to Velma, a loving Dad to children Peter, Mario, Charmaine, David, Mark and Shelly; a Brother, Uncle , and Grandfather; a keeper of many lifelong friends, a magnet for new ones, and a member of the Prince Hall Mason Eureka Lodge #20. Friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home-Vaughan Chapel, 8088 Yonge Street (south of Hwy. 7) on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 21 Simonston Blvd. (Don Mills and Steeles) at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family as your expression of sympathy. Online condolences may be made at www.jerrettvaughanchapel.com.

We send our love and deepest sympathy to the Spence family. We were thankful for circumstances that allowed members of our family to be there at the visitation on Sunday afternoon and say our final goodbye. Our friendship with your family has been a long and cherished one, with many happy memories that included Ralf & Valrey, Velma & David, our children and your children. We will pray for strength for you during what we know is a difficult time.
Sending you all our continued love and support, the Watson Family

David was extremely helpful with his advice for all our home renovations. We will always remember his cheerful attitude. We pray that God may grant eternal rest to his soul.
Velma, we pray that God may give you the strength to bear this loss, knowing that David is in a better place now. May God bless you abundantly.
