David entered God's Heavenly Kingdom for eternal life and peace on March 25, 2012 surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 4, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas to Florence Mildred "Biddie" Terry and Benjamin Franklin "Ben" Terry. He was raised in Highland Park. He attended Texas Tech University. His career started at an early age under the watchful eye of his father at Terminix. Shortly thereafter, he assumed the position of President of Sears Pest Control Company. The operation grew from a very small entity to a leader in the state. He was loved and admired by his employees and all he encountered.

David was a devoted father with a great sense of humor. He kept us laughing with his outgoing and straightforward personality. He was gracious to all he met, vivacious and had a heart of gold. He loved spending time at the beach especially with his boys.

David was a lifelong member of Highland Park Methodist Church.

David was predeceased by his father, Benjamin Franklin "Ben" Terry. He is survived by his two cherished sons, David Alan Terry, Jr. and Blake Beall Terry and his fiancé, Maitlyn Youngblood; his devoted mother, Biddie Terry Bradford and step father Robert Ingrum Bradford; his brother, Michael Franklin Terry and his wife Mary; his sister, Julie Terry Mills and her husband Jim; seven nieces and nephews, Melissa Terry Pridmore and her husband Dustin, Michael Franklin Terry, Jr., Travis DeLoache Terry, Christine Elizabeth Mills, James Dunaway Mills, Benjamin Terry Mills, and Michael Thomas Mills; two great nieces and one great nephew, Kennedy Mae Pridmore, Bailey Jordan Pridmore, and Owen Terry Pridmore. He is also survived by a loving host of aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 29th at 11 AM in the sanctuary at Highland Park United Methodist Church. The Reverend Bill Smith will officiate. A private family burial will be held prior to the service. The family will receive friends at reception in the Great Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those who may wish to contribute memorials consider directing them to Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, Texas 75205 or to the charity of your choice. David was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all he touched.
