Dawn was one of my earliest and dearest friends when I volunteered for the American Red Cross. During hurricanes Gustav and Ike in 2008, she worked in Washington while I spent 21 days on the Gulf Coast. She stayed in my condo, taking care of my two cats. After three weeks of watching Dawn with her laptop and iPhone, my tomcat Popeye wanted his own keyboard. He was in heaven to meet Dawn.
