Although it's been five years close to 6 sense his passing and Im only finding out recently. I thought I might share some words.. Dean Yarbrough....Mr Yarbrough is one of the best people you could have met as a kid. Being a former McKay student. I could say a lot of my guidance came from this man. Esp during the dark times. At this stage I really wished I would had kept up with among other ppl as well. You only get one life friends and family. Use it wisely and love one another. Cause you will never know when that time will come. Mr Yarbrough you are truly missed and I appreciate everything you have done for me and my friends over the years at the Mckay. And I know your looking down on us blessing us with Success and hope for the Future. I personally missed you and the many times I ended up in your over just for a sit down and some advice or guidance. The trips to Thompson Island and then some. YARBROUGH family stay blessed. Dean is not gone. Just transition to a higher plain. Many Thank you for all you have done sir.

As one of his former Donald Mckay School students, I can assure you that our generation still mentioned his name and effect on us in recent times (still do). We see him as a great man, who truly touched us and made a difference to us. He will be sincerely missed.

Dear Yarbrough family,
One of the most exciting memories of my childhood is hearing Mr. Yarbrough play his trumpet at the Easter service at St. Elizabeth's church in Sudbury. It was thrilling then, as is the memory now. I will never forget him. Linda (Brown) Engelmann (the little girl with crutches)

Dear Maxine and kids (and grandkids!), Dean was a cool guy! I'm sorry he has left this world. As a frequent visitor to the house in the 70s, I was in awe of him. He was interested in so many things and was driven to share his experience. He had an engineer's mind and was always tinkering with something -- the boat, a car, a camera, it was always something. I was just being polite by expressing interest but he was always anxious to turn what he must have perceived as casual curiosity into real knowledge. Of course I also remember the soft lectures about using the car that he gave to Chip, which mostly went in one ear and out the other. Okay, TMI. Dean, it's obvious how much you'll be missed by your family by the love they showed you in your final year, and you'll be missed by everyone who came into your orbit. Maxine and family, celebrate the memories of a genuine and good man.

I was very sorry to learn of Mr.Yarbrough's passing. Whatta man Whatta man!!! I worked with him for many years before and after I became a Boston principal. His advice and gentle counsel were invaluable. "take it easy " "slow down and THINK" "Nobody's smart when they're running" Probably saved my career. Dean was a true gentleman who will be missed!!!
