Deborah Grimes Penney, age 80, a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on February 18, 2013. Deborah was born in Oklahoma City, OK on August 15, 1932 to Glenn & Gertrude Grimes.
Deborah's beloved Grandfather, Samuel D. "Daddy Sam" Leggett, came to Oklahoma Territory in 1902 and settled in Lawton Oklahoma.
Deborah graduated from Classen High School and received an Associates Degree from the University of Oklahoma. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and was a Sweetheart of Sigma Chi. Deborah was also one of eight "Sooner Belle" beauties selected by movie producer, Samuel Goldwyn, from the 1951 Sooner yearbook.
Deborah spent many years selling real estate and also worked for the Oklahoma Association of Realtors. She enjoyed travelling, spending time with her family and with her best friend, her dog Daisy.
Deborah is survived by her daughter Lynn, son Jim & his wife Linda; grandsons: Michael & his wife Connie, Will, Daniel and Logan; and great-granddaughters: Zoey, Hana and Sophia.
Services will be held at Memorial Park Historic Cemetery Chapel 13400 N Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that individuals make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.

Lynn your Mother was a joy to all who met her. What a beautiful ceremony! I am sure she is happy looking down on this morning and hearing such beautiful sentements about her. Your Son is not only a good reflection of you and your parenting, but your Mother's parenting as well. We are so happy that Michael and Connie found each other and they have shared you and your Mother with our family for so many wonderful years. We love you guys very much! If anything is needed by you family, let us know.
