Services for Delbert W. Aldredge, 68, of Willis, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Clayton McClendon officiating. Interment will follow in the Newman Cemetery.
Mr. Aldredge was born June 20, 1944 in Angelina County, the son of the late Etna (Due) and Melvin Aldredge. He passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in a Conroe hospital.
Delbert had a very successful business named Aldredge Dozer Service. He was a Commissioner of Precinct 1, and was a supervisor at the Texas Department of Transportation with many of his friends for over 23 years. He enjoyed music, played the steel guitar with the Waymakers, and enjoyed hunting for arrowheads. Mr. Aldredge's family was his passion.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Aldredge of Willis; son, Michael Aldredge of Hudson; son and daughter in law, Ricky and Kelly Aldredge,of Alvarado, Texas; grandsons, Nickolas Aldredge, Kyle Alexander Aldredge, Andrew Michael Aldredge and Zachary Thomas Aldredge; brother, Marion Aldredge; sister, Bonita (Bo) Gallion; and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Delbert was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Roach and Emily Dearing Aldredge.
Pallbearers will be James Dearing, Jason Manthi, Ryan Lodini, Matthew Shepherd, Ken Kirkland and Ricky Aldredge.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Shepherd and David Shepherd.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.

Delbert was such a good man. He contributed so much to our area, and all who knew him will remember him in a very positive way. He was not just a regular guy, he came to improve things for all of us and did that. Family, you are sad, but be proud of what all Delbert accomplished. He left his mark. We will miss him.
