Delbert "Rick" Sewell, 68 year-old resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away August 8, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born December 4, 1945 in Moore, Oklahoma, he was the son of Delbert Arley Sewell and Grace Lee Carr Sewell. Rick was a longtime resident of Del City, OK and the former owner-operator of Rick's Garage and Joske's Formalwear in Del City, OK. He loved people and was known as "Smiling Rick" for his beautiful and always present smile. Rick was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and had received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He loved racing cars, watching wrestling on TV, and playing Bingo. ...
Delbert "Rick" Sewell, 68 year-old resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away August 8, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born December 4, 1945 in Moore, Oklahoma, he was the son of Delbert Arley Sewell and Grace Lee Carr Sewell. Rick was a longtime resident of Del City, OK and the former owner-operator of Rick's Garage and Joske's Formalwear in Del City, OK. He loved people and was known as "Smiling Rick" for his beautiful and always present smile. Rick was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and had received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He loved racing cars, watching wrestling on TV, and playing Bingo. Most of all he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Grace Sewell; 1 brother, Jim Sewell and 1 sister, Mary Turner. Survivors include his wife Peggy Sewell of the home; 1 son, Richard Wayne Sewell of Midwest City, OK; 1 daughter, Danielle Williams of Oklahoma City, OK; 1 step-daughter, Christine Henderson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Gage and Kendra; 1 brother, Donnie Sewell; 3 sisters, Kay Chandler; Esther Phillips; and Frances Unbehunt; and a large number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Bill Eisenhour SE Chapel, 5005 SE 29th St., Del City, OK 73115. .
