Dell was born in Grandview, TX on October 12, 1924 to parents Maude West Looney and Clifford O'Dell Looney. She passed away on May 19, 2012 at Founders Plaza in Wylie, TX, at the age of 87. She accepted Christ when she was a young girl and is in Heaven now with her Heavenly Father. Dell graduated from Alvarado High School in 1942. She met L.J. Jackson in Waco, TX and they were married in Waco on October 10, 1946. They had three children, Sharon in 1948, Don in 1951, and Mark in 1956. L.J. predeceased her in 1977. Dell graduated from Alvarado High School in 1942. She met L.J. Jackson in Waco, TX and they were married in Waco on October 10, 1946. They had three children, Sharon in 1948, Don in 1951, and Mark in 1956. L.J. predeceased her in 1977. Dell was a homemaker and lived in Dallas until the year 2000.
Dell is survived by daughter, Sharon DeForest and husband Michael, sons Don Jackson and Mark Jackson. Grandchildren, Stephen Johnson, Brooke Minter, Sara Ruckstuhl and Ben Jackson. Grandson, Scott Johnson passed away in 1994. Also survived by great grandchildren, Kassidy Johnson, Cody Johnson, Blake Johnson, Alex Minter, Bryce Minter and one great grandchild and two great-great grandchildren.
Dell has a brother, Gene Looney, Bessemer City N.C. who survives her. Her younger sister, Rose Odom predeceased her in 2001. She is survived by nephews, George Odom, Jr.,Travis Looney; nieces, Julie Meigs, Dee Ann Odom and Renee Beale.
Graveside services will be May 26, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Sparkman Hillcrest, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX. 75225. Viewing before the service 8:45- 9:45 A.M. Her pastor from South Garland Baptist, Larry Davis, will officiate at the service.
