Obituary

Reverend Dennis L. Cloonan of Boulder, CO passed away on October 4, 2010 in Boulder after a brief illness. He was born on February 26, 1935 in St. Louis, MO to Martin Joseph Cloonan and Anna Pearl (Ramsayer) Cloonan. Father Cloonan joined the Navy in 1953 for four years before he was honorably discharged. He then spent 35 years as a pilot for United Airlines, retiring in 1997. Later, he attended the Sacred Heart School of Theology in Wisconsin and served as a Catholic priest in parishes in Wyoming. Reverend Dennis L. Cloonan of Boulder, CO passed away on October 4, 2010 in Boulder after a brief illness. He was born on February 26, 1935 in St. Louis, MO to Martin Joseph Cloonan and Anna Pearl (Ramsayer) Cloonan.

Father Cloonan joined the Navy in 1953 for four years before he was honorably discharged. He then spent 35 years as a pilot for United Airlines, retiring in 1997. Later, he attended the Sacred Heart School of Theology in Wisconsin and served as a Catholic priest in parishes in Wyoming.

Father Cloonan is survived by Cyndee (Roger) Harrington of Cancun, Mexico; Mark (Jamai) Cloonan of Loveland; Caryn Cloonan of Mesa, AZ; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephew, and one great-grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott E. Cloonan and daughter, Sandra A. Cloonan-Latiolais.

A visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, October 8 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 1317 Mapleton Ave., Boulder, CO 80304, with a rosary following at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 11 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cheyenne, WY. An interment is to follow at 4 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Park, 3016 Kalmia Ave., Boulder, CO 80301. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
