Published by Legacy Remembers on May 21, 2013.

Dennis Daniel Cobb 76, of Sarasota, Florida passed away May 20, 2013. He was born in Essex, England January 1, 1937. He leaves behind 4 Children Susan Gibb and her husband Denny, Sheryl Kuzlik and her husband Bob, Cindy Jo Boston, and Dennis Cobb and his wife Cindy. He is affectionately known as Popeye to his 4 Grand Children and 5 Great Grand Children. Dennis recently lost his wife of 31 years Jayne Cobb. Dennis adored Jayne and loved to span the globe with her at his side. He was involved in the community and most recent with his association In the Sarasota Elks Club where he and his friends always provided lunch time humor and was Dennis's village of support. In 1958 Dennis migrated to the US and valued his earned US Citizenship. He started his career as a cameraman for WILX Channel 10 in Jackson, Michigan. Dennis grew to produce Championship Wrestling and in 1966 found opportunity in St. Petersburg as a producer for WSUN TV at the original Million Dollar Pier. His career took a turn into advertising and retired as a publisher of See Magazine and throughout the Southeast was affectionately recognized for his contributions to the Chamber of Commerce Magazines you see today. Dennis's slight British accent, quick witted sense of humor and flirtatious smile provided the personality that could sell ice to an Eskimo. Dennis Made a difference everywhere he went and most importantly with his family. Services will be held in private and donation in lieu of flowers can be made to Florida Suncoast Hospice.

Sorry to hear of my old friends passing. Dennis was a gentleman in every sense of the word. Kind and generous, he helped me during my transition to the print business from broadcasting over 20 years ago. Denis always had a smile on his face and a positive word for those around him. That smile and British accent would light up a room when he entered. I have thought of him often since he retired and the sage advice he imparted on me over the years serves me well each and every day. Rest peacefully my friend in the Lord's hands. I know there must be plenty of crossword puzzles in heaven. My deepest condolences to his family.

Dennis was a positive and professional force when he worked with us at See Magazine. That impact was felt in the marketplace where he was loved and in the Company where he was a positive influence for change. I/we have and will miss him.
