Dennis Elsworth Kee was born on July 24, 1955 in Miami, Florida to Larry E. Kee and Barbara Williams Kee. He departed this life on Monday, May 26, 2014 after a battle with cancer.

Dennis attended school in Miami, Florida where he graduated from Miami Northwestern in 1973. He attended Florida AM University for 1 year.

He later enlisted into the United States Army in 1974; where he served 20 years of active duty and 2 years active reserved. Dennis worked as a Personnel Manager in the Army for 15 years and he served the latter 5 years as a Tank Specialist.

His service in the military included Desert Strom and he was awarded six medals of Honor.

After retiring from the Army, he began driving commercial trucks and buses.

Dennis was heavy of words and lived his life his way. One of his hobbies was gardening; he truly had a green thumb. Dennis always had a smile on his face and he loved to make people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry E. Kee.

Dennis will live in the heart of his wife of 25 years, Mrs. JacquelineKee. He will be missed by five children; Lavandra Felder, Diop E. Kee, Keela Andrews, Herbert Andrews and Desmine Kee.

He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, his mother Barbara Kee of Miami, FL, a brother, Darnell E. Kee (Ada Mae) of Atlanta, GA, a sister, Jennifer E. Ritter (Ira) of Pittsburgh, PA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

As we remember Dennis, remember his number one phrase "Your life is what you make it".

Please join the Kee family in a celebration of life on Thursday, June 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen.
