Dennis Joseph Piasio, Sr. age 79 of Lake Worth, Florida passed away peacefully on March 12, 2014. Dennis was born on June 12, 1934 in the Bronx, New York to his eagerly awaiting parents, the late Mr. Verecondo Piasio and the late Mrs. Yolanda (nee Gatti) Piasio. Dennis worked as a Route Salesman for Boar's Head Meats for over thirty years in Tappan, New York taking over the route that his father had established. After retirement Dennis moved to the Palm Beach County area in 1986, coming from his hometown of Tappan, New York. Dennis was very active with the Ordered Sons of Italy in Lake Worth and New York for over forty years; where he served as the former President and later the former State President of this association. Dennis was a very entertaining person and was very dedicated to his beliefs, his ethnic customs and most importantly his family ways. He took great pride in his family and protected them as the Patriarch, never allowing his wife and children to do without the necessities of life and the numerous offerings that his salary could afford. He loved his family with his whole heart, always putting them above anyone or any materialistic item; outside of the love he had for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in Heaven above. He was a devout Catholic and loved to worship with his wife and family at St. Therese de Lisieux Catholic Church in Lake Worth. Dennis was greeted by his wife, Tina Piasio at the Gates of Heaven; who has been waiting for his arrival since March 19th of 2012. Dennis will be eternally missed by his six loved children, Dennis J. Piasio, Jr. and his wife, Ida of Middletown, Delaware, Vincent J. Piasio and his wife, Diane of Beekman, New York, Thomas A Candela and his wife, Teresa of Beach Lake, Pennsylvania, Donna M. Obligacion and her husband, Antonio of Lake Worth, Florida, Julia A. Silva and her husband, Glenn of Wellington, Florida, and Paul A. Piasio and his wife, Sheila of Stormville, New York; his seven treasured grandchildren, Tiffany Pellegrino, Danielle Kortlang, Dana Perez, Heather Piasio, Dennis A. Piasio, III, Courtney Obligacion, and Cody Piasio; his three adored great grandchildren, Angelo Pellegrino, David Kortlang and Adriana Pellegrino; and his one admired sister, Eleanor Renza of Boynton Beach, Florida. Family and Friends may gather and pay respects from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Friday, March 14, 2014 at Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center at Hillcrest, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33405, (561) 833-4061. During the visitation on Friday in the Funeral Home Chapel a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 PM followed by a service by the Ordered Sons of Italy at 8:00 PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at St. Therese de Lisieux Catholic Church, 11800 Lake Worth Road, Wellington, Florida 33449, (561) 784-0689 with Father Brian Lehnert the celebrant for the mass. Catholic Burial Rites will follow in Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, 10941 Southern Boulevard, Royal Palm Beach, Florida 33411, (561) 793-0711; where Dennis Joseph Piasio, Sr. and Tina Piasio will be forever united under an earthly blanket of fresh cut flowers, but forever spiritually united in Heaven above.
