Biography

On June 21, 2010, Dennis Burke Ray peacefully passed with numerous family members by his side in Colorado Springs, Colorado following a short fight with cancer. He was 66 years old. The youngest son of Noel B Ray and Katherine Ray, Dennis was born in Portsmouth, Virginia. He served in both the U.S. Marines and U.S. Army achieving the rank of MSG. He retired from military duty in 1990 after serving his country honorably for 27 years. During his military career he served in several campaigns to include: Vietnam, Panama, Grenada, and the Pacific. Loving husband, father, son, brother, friend, and Soldier; He is survived by his wife Anita L. Ray of Colorado Springs, Co; son Noel B. Ray and his wife Holly of Colorado Springs, Co; daughter Inez Ray and fiancé Sean Fitzgerald of Colorado Springs, Co, mother Mrs. Katherine Ray of Michigan, brother Ronald Ray of Alabama and his wife Mary; sister Alpha Ott of Michigan and her husband Mel; Sister Vera Cabrerra and her husband Alex; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet Winston. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 25th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain View Mortuary 2350 Montebello Square Drive Colorado Springs, CO 80918. There will also be a service in California at the funeral home Conrad- Carroll Funeral Home in Oxnard. A date has yet to be determined but it will be the first week of July.
