I met Dennis during the summer of 2013 when I just arrived America. He and Donna came to help Rachel and me on our moving day. I still remember his big and warm smile when he got out of his truck. And this smile stays in my mind from that day on. He's a generous and a happy mentor in our international group. Through him, I see the love of God.

Donna,
Dennis was a great friend! We spent many an evening going to the library at Prudue to study. Not because we had rowdy roommates, but we were just easily distracted by radios, conversations, etc.
I will miss him, but so glad he is no longer suffering; and really look forward to spending eternity with him in the near future.
I'm so glad God brought the two of you together, you were a great team. Now we are praying for you, you're going to have a big hole in your life, but God will fill you with His love, comfort, and His peace that passeth all understanding and will keep your heart and mind (Phil 4:7)

PSALMS 118:24 THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HATH MADE, REJOYCE AND BE GLAD IN IT.
THIS IS WHAT DENNIS TERRY DID DAILY, HE REJOYCED IN THE LORD, AND GLAD EVEY DAY FOR HIS LIFE AND FOR DONNA.
MY NAME IS BARBARA KEE AND I WORKED WITH DENNIS FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE FRIENDS WITH DENNIS AND DONNA OUT SIDE OF WORK ALSO. DENNIS WAS LIKE A BROTHER TO ME WE GOT ALONG GREAT. IN ALL THE YEARS I HAVE WORKED WITH DENNIS, I GREW TO KNOW THE NATURE OF DENNIS . FIRST OF ALL HE LOVED THE LORD, HE LOVED DONNA AND HIS WORK. I ALSO KNOW THE CHARACTER AND HOW SENSITIVE HE WAS TOWARDS THE NEED OF HIS PATIENTS. I REMEMBER ONE TIME DENNIS ASKED IF I THOUGHT JESUS COULD TALK TO HIM WHEN HE IS LAYING IN BED, I SAID OF COURSE HE WILL, GOD WILL TALK TO YOU ANY PLACE AND ANY TIME, WITH TEARS IN HIS EYES HE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME WHAT GOD HAD SAID TO HIM.
DENNIS WAS AN EXCELLENT PHARMACIST AND I LEARNED SO MUCH WORKING WITH HIM. HE ALWAYS TREATED EVERYONE WITH KINDNESS AND RESPECT, I REMEMBER DENNIS AND A FEW OF THE PATIENTS WOULD SHARE JOKES WITH EACH OTHER, TELL A FEW STORIES. ONE DAY DENNIS BROUGHT IN A SCRAP BOOK OF HIS AND DONNA'S WEDDING. I REMEMBER LOOKING THROUGH THE SCRAP BOOK AS HE WAS TELLING A STORY ABOUT EVERY PICTURE. BUT WHEN IT CAME TO THE WEDDING GOWN AND BRIDESMAID DRESSES HE WAS SO PROUD OF DONNA. HE SAID SHE HAD MADE HER OWN WEDDING GOWN AND BRIDESMAID DRESSES. HE TALKED OF HER ALL THE TIME. TALKING WITH DENNIS YOU COULD TELL HE HAD HIS PRIORITIES IN LINE. DENNIS LOVED THE LORD, DONNA AND HIS FAMILY. DENNIS WILL BE GREATLY MISSED, HE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO HAVE COME IN CONTACT WITH DENNIS. BUT NOW WE KNOW HE WILL BE REJOICING WITH THE LORD FOREVER.
MY HUSBAND AND I WILL MISS HIM GREATLY AND IT HAS BEEN OUR PLEASURE TO HAVE KNOWN DENNIS AND DONNA TERRY.

I find it very interesting that Dennis had been housebound for weeks, except to the doctor. Then as he was about to meet his Savior, he got one more ride in a car. Everyone must know that Dennis loved cars. I think God had Dennis pass from this life to the next in a car to use him another time to give a message to all of us left behind - and that message is - that God cares about our special interests and He will use us and our pleasures to show others His love. I will miss Dennis. He was always accommodating to me and to Donna as we approached the car with arm loads of sacks to be packed into the trunk. Farewell, good and kind brother-in-law.

The "former" Kmart Pharmacy East Gang

Dennis was a fun and loving person who will be remembered most for his generosity and readiness to help others. When he saw someone hurting he offered his time and aid. When he saw someone continuing in life's journey he offered support and encouragement. Even after his retirement from Kmart he cared enough to call us periodically and check in on our well-being.
Dennis was a good friend and coworker who will truly be missed.

I had the privilege to meet Dennis 2yrs ago at bsf in bloomington. Going through Revelation chapter by chapter I found myself listening closely to the words dennis had to say about the confidence he had in his faith. After bsf, I helped dennis with some to-do lists around his house and that is where I met his wife Donna and became friends with the Terry's more each visit. In what little time I shared with dennis, I know that he was a man of strong faith and understanding. He spoke with great wisdom and understanding of God's word. I will see you again good friend and brother in Christ. God called a great man into heaven on that morning you left us, but how sweet to know that you are no longer in any pain. I will never forget the time we had. My heart aches for Donna and the family. Until we meet again... God bless

Donna,

Ledra and I are holding you up in prayer. Only regret is not having had more time to get to know Dennis better. My brief time (Jon) during his illness showed me his depth and love of God. He rests now with his Savior in eternity. God's peace and grace with you, Donna. Love, Jon and Ledra Holden

Dear Donna, I am often thinking of you and praying for you and I will continue to do so in the days ahead. What a good time I had talking with Dennis about living up in "the Region" after finding out that our families were from the same corner of northwest Indiana and lived close to each other. Then years later we were in the same church in Bloomington! I am honored to have known Dennis. Many, many blessings to you and to all the family.

Dennis was one of the best things happened to me when I came to Indiana 3 years ago. I still often think about the first day I met him and Donna--their red pickup, the whole afternoon we spent together, the furniture we set up, the pizza we ordered and the joy we had. Talking with him was fun to everyone I know. I love him and Donna deeply. We are family and family is never apart. I miss you very much Dennis... Wish you well and happy in heaven.

"It's time to do your oil change!" Dennis to me was a guy who loved his cars. He enjoyed keeping his cars nice and clean and he always recorded time he did oil change. I came to know Dennis when I was invited to his Bible study group. And when we were together on Fridays after five days of heavy study, Dennis always had something funny that could make us laugh. As an international student, I don't know much about America. Dennis was always the first person I would think of when I had some problems. And he really cared about me. Although there's gap between our ages, I felt there's no gap when we were talking about school, work, life, and future. I visited him twice during the week before he died. But I never caught the feeling that he would die soon when I met him. Now I understand that it is because he didn't want to let us feel dispirited. IN THE PAST A FEW MONTH, HE MUST HAVE SUFFERED GREAT PAIN BUT HE WAS BRAVE AND NEVER MOANED IN FRONT OF US. I am sure Dennis will live in my mind for my whole life. And I will miss him.

For only two years I have known Dennis, but the happiness we had together on Fridays are countless. I feel blessed to find the warm fellowship here with Donna and Dennis; you are family to me. When I think of Dennis, I think of how kind and caring he was, and how fun it was to sit by his side and talk to him. Those good memories will always stay in my heart. May he rest where no shadows fall.

Dennis had always shown me great kindness and generosity. I still remember him letting me ride in his precious Corvette, we screamed and laughed and had such a good time. He gave me lots of advice and also told me tons of stories. I will miss him and may he rest in peace.

Dear Donna, You are in my heart during these days!
A car-related memory I have of Dennis is from a conversation at ECC a few years back. He was speaking of a time when you and he were visiting in California, Los Angeles I think. Dennis said he was amazed driving in traffic because it wasn't like Indiana or anyplace else, where one car starts up when the light turns green, then the next car starts, then the next one. In Los Angeles, a whole stream of cars were somehow able to start all at once and immediately get up to speed.
Dennis was a good teller of stories, wasn't he!

So saddened to know someone as caring as Donna is hurting. There are no words we can utter that will make it easier, but in the end that's all we have. This is a journey we all will have to make; saying good-bye to a loved one of many years. We must not be dismayed by good-byes. A farewell is necessary before we can meet again. Just know Donna, that day will come, and Dennis & Donna will be united again.
