Your work here on Earth is now done. GOD needed you for a mission only you could fulfill . Your awesome spirit lives on in all that you've encountered . In our eyes you are gone to soon but in reality you'll always be here. Seems like yesterday we were in high school cutting up. You never turned away or stopped smiling even through all your trials . I'm so glad I was blessed enough to know you ..
Kick back, put your feet up, smile and rest easy D..
Praying for your beautiful family ..

Derrick,
Your loss to our family has been one that has truly knocked us off our feet. Life just isn't the same without you. Cesar misses you so much as do we. Mickel wanted me to let you know, "I miss you already Coach D." Losing you is like a dagger in the heart. I know this pain is felt by all those around you who's lives you've impacted. For us it was the constant presence you had in our lives. Always keeping your promises to Cesar to be by his side every step of the way. I remember saying "thank you" to you so many times in all the years we've known each other and in all the times I could just to remind you just how much I appreciated you just for WHO you were and all the blessings you brought to our lives. I know you are at peace now, and I pray that you are sitting beside His mercy seat. Lord knows you are deserving of that and so much more. Being both soft and strong is a combination many few have mastered... and yet you did. We love you now and forever, and will miss you and HONOR YOU every day of our lives.

Words can t describe the feeling of how much of a great loss you are to all of us who were privileged enough to have known you. You were a great husband, father, son, and friend. You were an extraordinary example of what a real man is. You have touched so many lives with your infectious smile, humor and kindness. We have truly lost a good one but are better people having known you.
Derrick I never imagined having to say any of these words in this manner. The thought was always to have better days ahead and even bigger celebrations. My mind is blown away and it is still so unreal. I pray that you are finally at rest and you now watch over all of us. I pray that we as friends can comfort Bianca and the boys in a way that will make you proud. I pray we always share the fondest memories of you and laugh with joy the way you have done with us. You were truly one of a kind. You will be sorely missed but absolutely NEVER forgotten. May you be at peace and rest comfortably knowing we will always be here to help your family in any way we can. We will stand together and stay strong upholding your memory and we will continue to fight this horrific disease in your honor. Thank you Derrick for your love, laughter, your bravery, your knowledge but most importantly your friendship.
The Mainor Family will always remember the great man you were.
