Services for Dimple Walker, 92, of Lufkin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Walker's grandson, Marlin Craig Anthony will also speak at the service. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker was born October 13, 1925 in Chiti, Texas, the daughter of the late Pearl (Turner) and Burl Fann. She passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 in a Jacksonville nursing facility.
Mrs. Walker was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and reading. She loved her job as coordinator at Meals on Wheels of Angelina County Senior Citizens Center – this was her most recent job. Mrs. Walker was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Karolyn K. and Marlin H. Anthony of Flint and Kathy and Billy Murphy of Corrigan; son, Jack (Rusty) Koon of Lufkin; grandsons, Craig Anthony and wife Sarah of Round Rock and Shane Murphy of Corrigan; granddaughters, Kelly O'Sullivan and husband Tim of Garland, Melany Wolfe and husband Bryan of College Station, and Jennifer Jones and husband Jerry of Pollok; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a number of other family members.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Ray H. Walker; brothers, Preston Fann and John Fann; sister, Margie Lankford; and great-granddaughter, Allyson.
Pallbearers will be Shane Murphy, Bryan Wolfe, Tyler Murphy, Thomas O'Sullivan, Ed Fann and Troy Bryant.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until service time at the funeral home.
