Dolores Pastrano Tijerina, 88, went to be with our Lord on December 7, 2011. Married for 64 years, she was a devoted wife, homemaker and mother of 11 children. As a former "Kelly Katie"during WWII, she provided critical support for aircraft at Kelly AFB. A member of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima, the Sociedades Guadalupanas, the St Paul's Altar Society and Ladies Auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. She was preceded in death by husband, Manuel, parents Geronimo and Nicoloza Pastrano; sister Ruth Cardenas, brother John Pastrano, sons, Alexander and Bernardo, grandsons, Brandon and Ronald. Tijerina, Jerome (Linda) Tijerina, John Philip Tijerina, Brigid (Robert Jr.) McIntyre, Patsy (Mark) Henson and Rose Ann Bononcini; grandchildren, Manuel III, Robert, Stephen, Misty, Jose, Jeremy, Christian, Dominique, Anthony, Matthew, Isaac, Christina, Veronica, Jacob, Carmen and Amber; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Reagan, Noah, Brandon Jr., Connor, Elena, Arianna, Liliana, Isaiah, Aerias and Zachary; brothers, Andres, Gregory, Manuel, Jerry and Joe Pastrano; sisters, Eufemia Rodriguez, Maria Puente and Patsy Espino. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Rd. on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. The mass funeral will be at Prince of Peace Catholic Church,7893 Grissom Road on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. Patrick Cronin officiating. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
