Domenico Franze, 87, beloved husband of Mimma (Tripodi) Franze of New Britain, passed away peacefully on January 8, with his wife by his side. Domenico was born July 27, 1930 in Piscopio, Vibo Valentia, Italy, to the late Francesco and Maria Teresa (Profiti) Franze. When he immigrated to the United States, he worked various jobs in construction and later became employed by Fafnir Bearings until his retirement. He was a member of St. Ann Church. Domenico Franze, 87, beloved husband of Mimma (Tripodi) Franze of New Britain, passed away peacefully on January 8, with his wife by his side. Domenico was born July 27, 1930 in Piscopio, Vibo Valentia, Italy, to the late Francesco and Maria Teresa (Profiti) Franze. When he immigrated to the United States, he worked various jobs in construction and later became employed by Fafnir Bearings until his retirement. He was a member of St. Ann Church. He married his beloved Mimma in 1984 and together they shared treasured years with friends and family. Domenico had a passion for gardening, making wine, playing cards, and story telling.

Domenico will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Mimma. He will also be missed by his dear friend, Maria Teresa Fortuna, and her children and their families, Marie Zenobi, Joe and Sharon Fortuna, Robert and Nancy D'Addabbo, and Dan and Paulina Geraci, along with his many friends whom he cherished. Domenico is survived by his nieces and nephews, sister in law Rosa Tripodi, and extended family in Italy. He was predeceased by brother Nicola Franze and sisters Rosa Pugliese and Francesca Labella, and nephews Rosario Franze and Michele Labella of Italy, and recently by his best friend "brother", Filippo Fortuna.

Calling hours are Friday, January 12th, 5-8pm at New Britain Memorial - Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, January 13th at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home, to be followed by Mass of Christian liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 101 North St., New Britain.
