Dominic Mignone, 87 passed away Wednesday, April 1, in West Orange with his loving family by his side. Born in West Orange, Dominic owned and operated Dom's Auto Repair for many years. He was also a foreman for the Township of West Orange. He served in the Army and was stationed in the Philippines during WWII. His heart and personality were larger than life and was a friend to all who knew him. He always stopped traffic whenever he drove his '51 Jeep Willy. Dominic was also an avid deep sea fisherman.
Dominic was predeceased by his brothers Armand and Newchy, sisters East, Helen and Jen, his son Joseph, and the love of his life Tess (Theresa). He is survived by his loving daughter Renee Mignone, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be offered on Monday, April 6 at 9:45AM at St. Joseph's Church, West Orange, NJ. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dominic's name may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the St. Barnabas Hospice.
