Obituary

Dominick A. Verrillo, 88, passed away at his home in Eastwood after a short battle with Liver Cancer. He attended Vocational High School. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. Dominick was a Syracuse Firefighter, appointed 1957 to his retirement in 1983. He was employed by Syracuse School District as a Hall Monitor at many city schools for 30 years. He enjoyed sports, getting together with his family and friends, and was loved and will be missed by all. Dominick is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Rosemary (DiMunno) Verrillo; daughter, Annette (Joe) Tortorello; sons, John (Sheila) Verrillo and Dominick "Mick" (Terri) Verrillo; grandchildren, Amanda, Abby, Mark, Nick, Luke, and Tessa; sisters, Mary Cerreto, Gilda Augusto, Jeanette Schlosser and Clementine Barilla (predeceased); many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
