Mrs. Huckelbury, I will never forget when I came to your house to help me keep my cat Star. Mom and Dad said I couldn't keep her unless I earned the money to get her fixed and her shots. Mr. Huckelbury answered the door and said I could rake the yard for money. Needless to say, I was able to keep the cat and I learned how to work and what a sweet man he was. Thank you for always buying my crap when you didn't need to and always supporting my causes no matter how crazy they may be. You taught me the meaning of a neighbor and I will never forget it.

Lisa...I am so sorry to hear about your father. My prayer is that you see his warm smile each time you look up and know he is safely tucked in the arms of his Savior. Peace be with you.

Dear Nita and family,
I will always remember Don's warm easy smile and the twinkle in his eye. His handshake was so much like my dad's. Many of his gestures and postures reminded me of the many Huckelbury males I have known.
You and Don displayed such gracious generosity and hospitality during our wild genealogy searches. You even let us spread all our maps and papers all over your kitchen and dining room. You hardly knew us, being California "foreigners", but you were so kind and helpful. Don took pity on us bear-besieged, newbie, mountain dwellers and sold us a reliable 12-gauge, so we would be safe - bless him.
I will never forget you both for your warmth and kindness - an example for all the rest of us.
Don, Charlie, Paul, Fred, Keith, Kenneth, Albert, and Ernest are somewhere fishing and telling tall tales on each other. Isabel, Patsy, Kippy, Hazel, Ruth, and Esther are on the sidelines and . . . well you get the idea.
With much love,
Vicki Huckelbury Lewis, cousin.
