Donald August Cooper passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the age of 74. He was the beloved husband of Mollie Perez Cooper for almost 48 years. Son of the late Herbert and Hazel Cooper. Father of Donald August Cooper, Jr. Brother-in-law of John Perez. He is also survived by their canine companion, Echo. He was a long time employee of Avondale Shipyards, but his true passion, other than his family, was fishing. He was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Westwego, and a man of very deep faith. He and his wife Mollie had their first date when he asked her to church, setting what would become the pattern for their home.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at his parish, Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Westwego, on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:00 AM.
