Donald E. Patterson, 68, of Bloomington, IN, passed away on October 9, 2016. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and a proud veteran. He served in the Vietnam war as a M.P. in the 18th Military Police brigade. He is survived by his wife, Diana K. (Cunningham) Patterson of Bloomington, sons Jason B. Patterson of Bondurant, IA, Jeremy W. Patterson of Greenwood, IN, Travis E. Patterson of Bloomington, IN, 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, brother Robert Patterson of Tifton, GA, and sister Phyllis Horvath of Plymouth, IN. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Lulu Patterson, brother Steven Patterson and son Charles Richard Shots. He had a passion for his family, work with the disabled and Veterans of Vietnam war. Military honors will be performed by the Monroe County Honor Guard and the US Army at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to http://www.gofundme.com/2su9kpg.
Services will be held at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, 700 W. Gourley Pike, Bloomington, IN 47404 on Saturday October 15th, 2016 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
