Donald Kenneth "Kenny" Bray, Sr., 62, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Bettie Jamerson Bray for thirty years.
Born October 18, 1954 in Grandville, NC, he was the son of the late Crawford and Doris Jamerson Bray and was also preceded in death by a son, Rodney Pippin and a brother, James (Jimbo) Bray. He was employed by Moore & Giles, Inc. and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Bray is survived two sons, Donald Kenneth Bray, Jr. of Madison Heights and Jeremy Allen Bray and wife Jolene of Monroe; a sister, Betty King and husband Richard of Madison Heights; eight grandchildren, K.C., Landen, Kyle, Ethan, Grace, Aunaka, Jase, and Davis and two special nephews, Justin King and Matthew King.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Glynn Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at the Jamerson Family Cemetery in Dillwyn.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

I went to high school with Kenny , Worked with Kenny at Simplimatic until 1985 when I left. We were Neighbors We lived at the end of Woodrow Ave. Our Boys went to school together Over the last 46 years or so of knowing Kenny I have always thought highly of him , he has always been an exceptionally fine person who always was good to others. He will be missed but for everyone who knew him he will live on in memories Our Lord will help all through their loss and sorrows. if there is anything we can do just call us.
