To the Simms Familly,
We heard about Don just before the hurricane, and we are late sending our condolences, but not forgetting Don and your family. We have great memories from when he built 3 homes for us in Toledo. He was a wonderful friend and helpful in many ways to us. He may be gone, but not forgotten.

Don Simms is one of the sweetest men I've met. I will miss his mail that he sends. Every time he saw my name in paper, he would cut the article out and mail it over. What a wonderful legacy of love and success he leaves behind in this world and because of his faith in God, he is dancing on the streets of gold with God saying "well done my good and faithful servant". Much love to his family during this loss. xoxo Donna Ellis Etheridge

Dear Pat, Chris, Tannya, Chloe, Sebastian, and all Simms family members,
Over 25 years ago I was fortunate to meet Don, aka "Captain Fun", while playing beach volleyball . I could quickly grasp why he had that nickname as he knew how to have fun. As I got to spend more time together, including a very special Thanksgiving in Coco Beach, I could see that he was also uniquely warm and thoughtful and I remember thinking how blessed were you, his family, for having him in your lives...
Our deepest sympathies for your loss and our thoughts and prayers for each and everyone of you during these difficult times and for Don in Heaven.
May God bless you; warmly,
Luis, Carolina, Barbie, Eli, Helena and Davor

To Pat and Family What a tremendous loss it was to hear of Don's passing. Debbie saw a newsline about Don in local paper and was so shocked and saddened to hear he was gone. He was not only a positive influence in life but also in business. He caused a big change in my personality by the way he lived his life in a positive way all the time. When I came out of UT he gave me my first job as a Draftsman then onto General Manager for next 15 year's. I really miss him as a true friend and Mentor and all the fun times we had. I look forward to seeing him again one day and may God Bless and Comfort you and Family. May Don Rest in Peace. Timothy Nichter.

Don will be truly missed. Don met my father, Ralph Curatola, back in 1980 and built a house for him and his family in Suntree. They both grew to become great friends. I was only 10 years old back then. Over the years I grew closer to Don and really honored and respected him. He always gave me great advice. I can't say enough about Don. He and my father talked about developing other properties, but it never happened. Now they will get there chance to develop land up in heaven together. I can't wait to see what they do........ Very sad to see such a good guy go, but I feel lucky to have known him so many years. I loved his enthusiastic support of anything going on in my life. He was my dad's close friend but also my first real boss'. I remember things I learned from him, way before I ever went to business school, especially about dealing with people in a positive way. So sorry for the family's loss of this great man. There is a part of his character in each of his kids that will go on, but he will be missed!

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when you all first moved to Brevard County. Such a super nice family. Your dad worked alot so I never really got to see him much when I visited with you two girls. I do remember your mom was certainly on top of things at home though in this new, very undeveloped town at the time :). I know that he was a very respected, good, hard working man and was very deserving of his success and accomplishments. The three of you are beautiful living reflections of who he was and certainly of who your dear mother is. Hugs to all of you.

Thank you to the Simms family for sharing this beautiful story of Mr. Simms. Though how could you ever really capture the spirit of this amazing person! He was like a second dad to me growing up and even as I moved away every once in a while I'd receive a little Mr. Goodbar and Pepsi money:) The true treat knowing I was being thought of even though I was in NYC. I'll never forget days at the condo filled with Mr. Simms laughter. Simms-Yeager adventures and forever your dad in his woody convertible driving with The Beach Boys blaring:) Love to you all. He was an incredible man and I'm blessed to have been his Victoria.
