After 52 years in the grocery business, Lindsey Lockers in now closed.
Donald M. Adkins, 84, passed away October 30th, 2011. Born on March 5th, 1927 to Charles and Marion (Damon) Adkins in Yakima, Washington.
Dad graduated from White Swan High School and enlisted in the US Navy as Seaman First Class on February 10th, 1945. While in the service, he married Barbara (Bobbie) June Perry and raised three children. Judith Waddle, Donald Adkins and Charles Adkins.
In November of 1958, Dad and Mom purchased a country store located on the corner of Brownstown and Evans Road called Lindsey Lockers. The store was open 365 days a year and provided groceries, meat lockers, meat cutting and gas station for the community and anyone that traveled through the area. Our family would like to thank the community for all their support and help your provided to our parents throughout those years.
Dad is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Don (Mary) Adkins and Chuck (Mary) Adkins; four grandchildren, Chelsea Adkins, Josh Adkins, Kevin Adkins and Bryan Adkins. Dad was preceded in death by his father, mother, wife Bobbie and daughter Judi.
A Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday November 5th, 2011 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home in Yakima, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dad's name to St. Joe's Catholic School or LaSalle High School. Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Don was a great friend and help to many yakamas, he always had a smile and good word for all. he wil be remembered as the good natured and humourous man he was, i was 4 when i first met him and warm smile
