Nature

As a fond mother, when the day is o'er,
Leads by the hand her little child to bed,
Half willing, half reluctant to be led,
And leave his broken playthings on the floor,
Still gazing at them through the open door,
Nor wholly reassured and comforted
By promises of others in their stead,
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more;
So Nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently, that we go
Scarce knowing if we wish to go or stay,
Being too full of sleep to understand
How far the unknown transcends the what we know.

It was unfortunate that I only got to meet Don a couple times at different family functions. But my first thought of him was what a sweet and caring man. My husband (Marty) and him would sit and love to talk about the same branch of service they both shared, the Marines. We both will remember his sweet smile and the goodness he had in him. Our sympathy goes out to Hazel and the family.

Deepest Sympathy to the Bashaw Family. It was such an honor to work with Don at the MRDD Canton Southgate Workshop back in the '70's. Don was a great story teller and had a wonderful way with all of the Worshop Staff and all the clients. He will be missed.

Hazel and Family,

I want to extend our condolences to you and your family in the loss of Don. I and Wesley Chapel Nazarene Church have fond memories of Don and I am sure he will be missed by you all and we here at Wesley Chapel. Below is a poem that I trust will comfort you at this time.
We little knew that morning
God was going to call your name,
In Life we loved you dearly
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you
You did not go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories
Your love is still our guide,
And although we cannot see you
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.

God Bless you all.
