Donald Urbon "Running Horse" Dukes, 67, of Madison Heights, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the V.C.U. Medical Center in Richmond.
Born March 4, 1946 in Beaumont, TX, he was the son of the late Curtis Albert and Birdie Ann Norman Dukes. He was retired from the U.S. Navy, where he served multiple tours during the Vietnam War and was a member of Holcomb Rock Baptist Church.
Mr. Dukes is survived by the love of his life, JoAnn Carter Druin of Madison Heights and her children and grandchildren; his sister, Connie Passmore and husband Jimmie of Lufkin, TX; two nieces and grandnieces.
A graveside service with military honors by American Legion Post 16 will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Briarwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. David Stewart officiating.
