, Donald A.K. Erps, 86, of Blue Grass, formerly of Donahue, passed away, Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Funeral services will be 11:30 am, Monday, February, 27, 2012 at The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Donahue and Blue Grass Fire Departments. Online condolences and tributes may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Donald was born on July 5, 1925 in Scott County, Iowa, the son of Fred and Mary (Levien) Erps.

Donald was an Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a 58 year member of the Donahue American Legion Post 532. Donald retired from the Iowa Department of Transportation in 1985 after 28 years of service. He enjoyed going to auctions and helping with his nieces garage sales. Donald also enjoyed starting his '66 Chevy and trucks every day. He loved parades and spending time with his family during the holidays.

Those left to honor his memory include, nieceNancy (Jake) West, Blue Grass; nephew Bob (Millie) Erps, Davenport; nieces, Penny Erps and Eunice Weaver both of Davenport, Darlene Grosvenor, Clarksburg, MO.; nephews, Darold Busch, Donahue, IA., Eugene Wuestenburg, Eldridge, Ia. and sister-in-law, Helen Erps, Commanche, IA. , with numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Walter, Elmer, and Ralph, and a sister Evelyn Feddersen.
