Donald M. Haadsma, age 83, of Grand Rapids, U.S. Coast Guard Veteran, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 20, 2014. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie Jeanne; great-grandson, Ethan Haadsma; sisters, Roberta Lovell, Ruth Martin and brother, Raymond Haadsma. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Deloris Haadsma; his children, James (Shelley) Haadsma, Mary (David) Van't Hof, Melinda (Rodney) Kalman and Richard (Stephanie) Haadsma; his grandchildren, Danielle (Joe), Mindi (Chuck), Melissa (Chris), Andrew, Justin, Kristin, Kathryn, Amanda, Matthew, Timothy and Joshua; five great-grandchildren; sisters,...
Donald M. Haadsma, age 83, of Grand Rapids, U.S. Coast Guard Veteran, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 20, 2014. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie Jeanne; great-grandson, Ethan Haadsma; sisters, Roberta Lovell, Ruth Martin and brother, Raymond Haadsma. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Deloris Haadsma; his children, James (Shelley) Haadsma, Mary (David) Van't Hof, Melinda (Rodney) Kalman and Richard (Stephanie) Haadsma; his grandchildren, Danielle (Joe), Mindi (Chuck), Melissa (Chris), Andrew, Justin, Kristin, Kathryn, Amanda, Matthew, Timothy and Joshua; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Marge Eppink and Mary (John) Stadt and brothers-in-law, Robert Lovell and Ed Martin; sister-in-law, Marion Smith. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. He was an active member of Aberdeen Reformed Church. As a devoted Christian, he was passionately involved in the work of the Gideons. He spent his entire career at Lear Siegler/Smith Aerospace. Visitation will be held Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Aberdeen Reformed Church, 1000 Aberdeen St. NE Grand Rapids, MI 49505 from 10 AM to time of Service 11 AM. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Aberdeen Reformed Church or Gideons International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
