Donald Kelley Hayes, 82, passed into the loving arms of God at his home on August 3, 2014.
Donald served in Europe in the Korean War in the US Air Force as Sgt. for three years.
He retired from U. S. Pipe, Soil Pipe Division after 35 years of service. Donald was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church for over 44 years.
Donald was a member of Hill City Masonic Lodge # 603 F&AM for over 50 years where he served faithfully as Chaplain and other offices.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William L. Hayes, Sr. and Cassie Cowart Hayes; sister, Mary Myree Hayes and a brother, William L. Hayes, Jr.
Donald is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances Fulghum Hayes; stepson, Daniel A. Edwards; sister, Lorene S. Cagle; great grandson, Thomas Morris, III; granddaughter, Cheryl Edwards Femrite of Texas; two great granddaughters, Sade' Edwards and Cheyenne Seifert of Killeen, Texas; several nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends from 3 until 8pm Tuesday, with Masonic service at 7:00pm August 5, at the North Chapel Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 6, at the North Chapel Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Bell and Rev. Roger DeHart officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
