Don was instrumental in getting me my first job. Having relocated from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania after graduating from Geneva College, I was looking for work. A mutual friend, Mr. Alan Windham introduced me to Don on a tennis court. What a competitor! You could tell instantly that he loved to play tennis by his sweat-soaked shirt and brilliant smile! Though there were no positions available at OUC at the time, he made a call to Nick Guarriello (a principal in a local engineering consulting firm) "suggesting" that I be hired. In a month, I was on board with R. W. Beck & Associates -- a firm in which I have spend most of my career. It was only short while until I realized that I had actually met Don and his family before. Don's in-laws had a home around the corner from where I grew up in Beaver Falls. I can still remember playing with his sons and using Grandma Mandeville's ringer washer over and over again --- it's a small world! Our family will be praying that the God of Comfort will bless the Moore and extended family in this time of grief. Our loss is Don's gain. -- Jonathan Schaefer (Orlando)
