She was born August 9, 1934 in Springfield, the daughter of Howard and Dorothy (Davidson) Alverson. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1952. Donna met Robert Oberline when both worked for Illini Motors. They fell in love and were married at the Jerome United Methodist Church February 12, 1954 and shared more than 60 years of marriage before Bob passed away December 15, 2014.
Primarily a homemaker, Donna was also a member of the Red Hat Society, and an early online computer user, joining the Prodigy service in the 1980's. She loved sewing, crafts, and designing greeting cards on her computer. She loved dogs, especially her beloved Taffy. She enjoyed flowers of all kinds, but was most fond of Bob's pink roses grown in their garden. She regularly fed the many birds and squirrels that populated her backyard. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas Oberline of Springfield and Michael (Marcella) Oberline of Virden. She has two grandchildren; Tanya (Scott) Cox of Springfield, and Tom (Patricia) Gentry of Athens, IL. There are eight grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, her step-brother, Ben (Beth) Kiningham of Petersburg, IL and her step-sister, Cheryl (Art) Zahn or Delores, CO. She is also survived by her two cousins; Joe (Mary Jean) McHugh of Springfield, and Kathy Shauger of Bandon, OR, and her "second" family --- those who so lovingly cared for her; Angie (Janae) Miller, Beckie (Ron) Spencer, Jessica Sloan, Bridget Jokisch and Kate Glasscock.

Thank you for always thinking I was amazing and beautiful even when I didn't. Thank you for hours spent picking out the right necklace or sewing me such gorgeous clothing with love so that I was dressed in fashionable, original items that made me feel special. Thank you for being Gramma Donna. Thank you for all the things large and small over the years that meant I was in your heart. Sing, dance and smile, pain no more.

Donna LOVED her BoB and reflective of Corr. 1-13 she showed her
LOVE for her father more than most folks I've ever been privileged
to know-- and now they are together in Heaven.
