OBITUARY

T'Mirah Baht Kotav Ben Benyahmeen, also known as Donnette Marie Brathwaite, was born on March 24, 1951, to Kotav Ben Benyahmeen and Elishecbah Ben Benyahmeen in Harlem Hospital, in New York, New York.
T'Mirah was educated in the New York City school system where she graduated from Prospect Heights, High School, in 1969.
T'Mirah grew up in Redhook Housing in Brooklyn, New York. She was raised as Israelite and attended B'nai Adath Kol Beth Yisrael, and also attended Kol Sh'aireit B'nai Yisrael. She later met Stephen David Brathwaite, SR. to whom she married in 1970, and out of that union had four beautiful children. She instilled in her children the laws of the most high. She also taught them to be respectful, strong, independent, and to be leaders.
She was employed by Hanover Trust Bank, where she worked as a cashier, and later resigned to start her family. Once her children became of age, she later explored many other employment opportunities.
T'Mirah was a loving, caring, helpful, and a well-respected mother. She was a second mother to all who knew her in the neighborhood. She was known as "EMO" by those who were close to her. She was also known as "Mrs. Bell" by all her friends. Most of all, she had a swag when she walked, and was admired by many. Last of all, we will never forget her hats and glasses.
The Most High has called unto her to come home on March 26, 2012. She leaves to mourn: Her four children: Ah'sharr Brathwaite, Stephen David Brathwaite, JR., N'Devah Brathwaite, Kenya Stewart; eight grandchildren, Ah'Mahniyeh Henderson, Shabazz Altidor, Stephene' Brathwaite, Tzadik Hunter, Edimeyah Hunter, Nahiem Lassiter, Samira Mullings, and Fred Odom; two great-grand- children Ishmael Jones and Nahmir Jones; her mother Elishecbah Benyahmeen; two brothers, Ari Benyahmeen, and Ehi Mackay; two sisters, Raquel Mackay and Ziporah Mackay; two son- in- laws Kareem Stewart, and Tafari Mullings, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

"Hi aunty, I am sitting her in my house, on the couch with tears in my eyes, and thoughts of you on my mind. Oh how I love and miss you sooooo much, its..." Mahtahnahmehyah Mackay Saintprix (Bushkill, PA)
